You need a fishing rod license and permission to fish via a permit when angling in freshwater in Northern Ireland.

This can be provided by:

• The Loughs Agency

• The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA)

• Private Clubs 

 This isn't required for sea fishing with rod and line in N.I when not targeting salmon or sea trout!

DAERA & Loughs Agency angling permits and rod Licences can be booked independently by yourself. Season and day tickets available.

Do not give up. You will get there in the end and have your Angling Number etc ready for storage in your phone.

Print a paper copy or jot these numbers down for safe keeping, primarily for when you need to produce it when asked while Angling so best always having it handy along with some proof of id.

You need an email address and way of online payment when booking.

If you are claiming the concessionary rate you will need your National insurance number.
